Now our working environments are massively changing, I thought I'd share an Office Makeover that I created for Marcia Leone from Not So Mumsy.
Marcia and I have worked together for the last few years on her home, which I styled to create a peaceful and calm sanctuary for her and her family.
This time she was after an office that she could use to showcase her new clothing label and work on her latest book, so I took inspiration from her famous blog and also her feminine energy to create this palm springs / moroccan inspired office look.
So I sourced pieces from boutique suppliers and balanced it out with my favourite desks from IKEA! I've linked them in below, as I am working with these on quite a few offices - I swear I've created 20 in the last 12 months!
.
I believe that everyone deserves to have a beautiful home on any budget, but I also believe that we are a product of our environment, so don't fill it with just a bunch of cheap junk!
.
Balance and prioritising is key to making this work!
Prioritize having a nice artwork above your desk to rest your eyes from work and give your space an inspirational and personalized view. Balance your space out with reflective surfaced and add warmth with soft furnishings like curtains and rugs. Also try and keep your desk organised, because it really does create a calmer space to work from.
.
Check out the before and after shots below and you'll see how I've softed what was a dark, industrial office to a warm, soft and feminine space!

You can see how cold, dark and lifeless this place was when I first saw it. I kinda freaked out, wondering how I was going to turn this into an instagrammable space, but I made it happen!

I softened the space with a framed print, linen look curtains from ikea (you know those ones that I always use!!!) and a blush feature wall. I also painted a few $2.50 besser blocks with the same paint and attached them to a cube sideways for storage and also a little kitchenette.

This was how excited Marcia was when I told her that I could make her office soft and feminine ;)

I added a giant brass mirror for reflection and to bounce the light around. I also added dried pampas and a washable rug from Oh Happy Home to give little Poppy a space to play on. These rugs are amazing because you can pop them in the wash. The armchair is AVAILABLE NOW on my website!

I added curtains here to filter the light and hide the industrial view outside. Linen look sheer curtains are my go-to for achieving this look!

Well her face says it all! I have absolutely LOVED watching Marcia and her family in this space on insta, it's not just for her, but also once that her whole family can use. (but really it's a space for kid free time mainly) #weallgottagetabreakfromthem
